Western Electric Model 51 Candlestick Telephone Phone
Model 51al dila telephone. Up for auction is a beautiful antique western electric model 51al dial telephone set with a western electric type 534a subscriber set. Bell introduced the we dial candlestick telephone in 1919. The restoration of this phone.
2008this telephnoe was completely dismantled for restoration. After restoration of each individual part, it was reassembled, wiredand thoroughly tested. It is guaranteed to work. Click on blue underlined links below for additional information.
Assembly. Click here to view assembly. Wiring. Click here for a larger image. Installation. Simply plug the cord into a working phone jack. Restoration. The original base, stem, switch hook, perch, transmitter cup, faceplate, dial finger wheel and 534a subset were professionally painted with a uniform, durable, high quality and very attractive finish. Click here to compare the finish on this phone to one that has its original finish. The switch hook assembly was cleaned adn adjusted. The #4 dial was disassembled, cleaned, oiled and calibrated. It makes an old clickity-clack sound when you dial a telephone number.
Actual dialing sound was recorded. The bottom plate was covered with a new suede leather cover. The receiver was disassembled, cleaned and buffed to a high gloss.
It has no chips ro cracks. New cords were made on the saem type of braiding machine that produced original cords. The ringer, located in the type 534a subscriber set, was cleaned and adjusted. tI gives an old bell ringing sound when you receive a call.
